How the NE:U savings calculator works

• Estimated Cost = programme price (+ optional Individual Wellness Plans if you tick it).
• Estimated Saving = ROI × Total Cost.
• Net Benefit = Estimated Saving − Total Cost.

Where the default ROI comes from

We start with a conservative default of 4.7× (i.e., for every £1 invested, average £4.70 is returned). That figure comes from Deloitte’s UK workplace mental health research (2024).

Why you can change the ROI

Every organisation’s baseline is different (absence, turnover, agency spend, team mix, implementation intensity). Use the slider to reflect your assumption—higher if you already see strong impacts, lower if you want a stricter, worst-case view.

Quick example

If total cost is £55,000 and ROI is 4.7× → Estimated Saving = £258,500 → Net Benefit = £203,500.
